Chabuzen is a tiny, traditional ramen shop in a quiet corner of Shimokitazawa, where the owner cooks alone and serves each bowl with care. Guests slip off their shoes to sit on a raised tatami platform at one of two low tables, or take a spot at the small counter beside the open kitchen. The room is intimate and warm, with barely half a dozen seats, and the walk from the nearest station winds through a peaceful residential stretch that makes the visit feel like a genuine find. English is spoken and the menu is translated, so the whole experience stays easy and welcoming from start to finish.
