Fitzroy River Lodge sits on the north side of town, right beside the Fitzroy River, where crocs and bird life are visible from the grounds. The buildings are clustered around an elevated platform, a design that accommodates wet season floods, with the bush surrounding the property. The caravan park offers spacious, shady sites where you pick your own spot, and the pool is set neatly within the grounds. What stands out across the reviews is the warm, inviting atmosphere, from the verandah dining to the helpful staff throughout the lodge.
