Diner reports from Varenna mention La scarpetta again and again. The practical picture from reviews: a wait most call worth it, limited seating and a reserve-ahead habit among regulars. The gluten free versions diners keep mentioning: pasta. Also on offer, by diner account: dishes made on site.

Diners mention gluten-free pasta.
