Piqniq, a breakfast and brunch spot on Lindengracht in Amsterdam’s Jordaan neighborhood, is a small, homey room with wooden tables, indoor seating for about twenty, and a little pavement terrace with blankets. The meal works like a picnic: you pick two, three, or four smaller items from a list of sandwiches, soups, salads, and quiches, and the staff brings them out together on one plate. The room fills up fast, often with a line before the doors open, and a visiting cat named Pedro may settle in on a nearby seat. Gluten free versions of the pulled chicken sandwich and the goat cheese sandwich are available.
