The Kestrel sits right on the Devonport wharf, where the ferry from Auckland pulls in, and diners can watch the harbour from tables on the deck. Inside, the large room has a pool table, several TVs for sport, and a fish tank that makes for a good distraction. Live musicians often play, and the staff are known for being attentive and quick to help out, whether that means serving a big group or treating a bee sting.
